Recipients of Uplimit Data Modeling for the Modern Warehouse certificate have learned a holistic overview of data modeling with an emphasis on the Kimball methodology. They learned to build scalable business intelligence systems given source data realities and business requirements and developed a vocabulary to describe the different elements of business processes, create artifacts to elucidate and document the business intelligence system, and learn how to handle common data modeling use cases.

Built projects that use the facts and dimensions and dimensional design processes of data modeling for the modern warehouse, as well as leveraged conformed dimensions, and common use cases including a physical data model, entity relationship diagram, Pseudo SQL queries and an enterprise entity relationship diagram.

They understand design of the modern data stack, model layers and dbt tests, macros, packages, DAGs, dbt exposures, and deployment. They have set up a dbt project from scratch and used it to run models, transform data, answer questions about customers, identify opportunities to improve product performance, and build in-depth funnel analyses.

Built a dbt project from scratch and used it to complete complex analyses about the state of the business.

Developed familiarity with latest dbt techniques, including: model layers and modeling best practices, using dbt tests to code defensively, Jinja & macros, dbt packages, dbt docs, hooks & operations, dbt exposures, and dbt deployment.
